How We Use Cookies

Studio 13 Design (“Studio 13 Design”, “we”, “Studio 13”) use “cookies” and other automated means to collect certain information about visitors to our websites, such as how many users visit our sites and the most viewed webpages. We collect this information to learn how to best tailor our sites for our visitors. We collect this information through various means, such as cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies. When we refer to “cookies”, we are referring to all of these.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are bits of text that are placed on your computer’s hard drive when you visit websites. Profoot mainly use cookies to tell us, for example, whether you have visited us before or if you are a new visitor and to help us identify site features in which you may have the greatest interest. Cookies may enhance your online experience by saving your preferences while you are visiting a particular website.

IP Addresses and URLs

An IP address is a unique identifier that electronic devices use to identify and communicate with each other on the Internet. When you visit our site, your IP Address is anonymised and passed to Google for analytics. We use this information to determine the general physical location of the device and to help us understand where our site visitors come from. We may use this information to change the way we present our websites to you to enhance your visit.

A URL (uniform resource locator) is in effect the address for the web page that you are visiting. We will use this information to see which sites and pages are visited and the way that you navigate through our site.

What Cookies Do We Use?

We use the following types of cookies on our sites:

Analytic Cookies – These cookies allow us to collect data relating to your use of our site, including the content you click while browsing the site. This is done so we can improve our site over time. These cookies are provided by our third-party analytic tool Google Analytics and are only used for purposes related to our site. All data is anonymised and will only be stored by Google and your personal data is deleted after 14 months, if you revisit the site within this time the counter is reset.

At present these are all the cookies we place on your computer, we will update this policy if this changes.

Google Analytics Cookies and their purpose

This cookie is known as a “persistent” cookie, that will stay on your computer until deleted or it will expire in 2038.

This cookie keeps track of the number of times you have been to our website, when the first visit was, and when the last visit occurred. Google Analytics uses the information from this cookie to calculate things like Days and Visits to purchase.

The B and C cookies work together to calculate how long a visit takes. __utmb takes a timestamp of the exact moment in time when you enter the site, while __utmc takes a timestamp of the exact moment in time when you leaves the site.

__utmb expires at the end of the session.

__utmc waits 30 minutes, and then it expires.

__utmc has no way of knowing when you have closed your browser or have left our website, so it waits 30 minutes for another pageview to happen, if it doesn’t, it expires.

__utmt is also set by Google Analytics and is used to throttle the request rate for the service – limiting the collection of data on high traffic sites. It expires after 10 minutes

__utmz keeps track of where you came from, what search engine you used, what link you clicked on, what keyword you used, and where they were in the world when you accessed a website. It expires in 15,768,000 seconds – or 6 months. This cookie is how Google Analytics knows to whom and to what source / medium / keyword to assign the credit for a visit.

Third Part Sites and Their Cookies

If you click a link on our site that takes you to a 3rd party site such as Amazon, Facebook or Twitter they may put cookies on your computer. We are not responsible for these cookies and would recommend checking their own Cookie Policies for peace of mind.

Disabling or Removing Cookies
